YOD Group Designs Mushroom-Inspired Rosso Restaurant in Bukovel Ski Resort

architecture-design · 2026-04-07

YOD Group has completed Rosso, an Italian restaurant in the Bukovel ski resort's Hrybova Khata hospitality complex, using a color palette drawn from forest mushrooms to evoke Mediterranean warmth. The interior features a gradient from deep crimson at the base to soft pink and sandy hues near the ceiling, mimicking the fly agaric mushroom's growth. Custom furniture by Ukrainian brands Woo and Noom, along with 3D-printed pendant lights resembling wild beehives, populate the space. Biomorphic elements include columns shaped like mushroom caps and a chaga mushroom-shaped faucet. An open kitchen with a red pizza oven acts as a focal point, while a children's zone with Noom chairs hosts culinary workshops. Dmytro Bonesko, co-owner and art director of YOD Group, describes the project as energetic and living, reflecting Ukraine's creative resurgence. Other recent Ukrainian hospitality ventures like Frank Café in Kyiv and Under the Reed guesthouses highlight this trend toward innovative, human-centric design.
