Yamamoto Masao Presents Intimate Owl Portraits in New York Exhibition

Japanese photographer Yamamoto Masao is presenting a solo exhibition titled 'Ten Owls' at Yancey Richardson gallery in New York. The exhibition, which runs from April 16 through May 22, features black-and-white gelatin silver prints depicting owls that inhabit woodlands near the artist's home in Japan. This marks Yamamoto's seventh solo show with the gallery. The photographs are intentionally small-scale, with none exceeding ten inches on their longest dimension, encouraging viewers to examine them closely. Yamamoto's work explores connections between imagery and memory through atmospheric compositions that suggest dreamlike archival material detached from conventional temporal flow.
