Wulf Architekten Completes Museum Renovation in Historic Reutlingen Buildings

Architecture firm wulf architekten has completed a museum project at Oberamteistraße 28–32 in Reutlingen, Germany. The project involves the renovation and adaptive reuse of a historic row of houses dating back to the 13th century, along with incorporating the preserved basement of the "Stone House" from plot 34, which was demolished in 1972. The architectural ensemble represents some of the oldest surviving residential structures in southern Germany, offering insight into centuries of building traditions and urban development in the former imperial city. The project covers 338 square meters and was finished in 2025. The design team was led by Stephan Burger, with office leadership from Tobias Wulf, Jan-Michael Kallfaß, Ingmar Menzer, Steffen Vogt, and Gabriel Wulf. Numerous specialists contributed to the project including structural engineers str.ucture, landscape architects Bäuerle Landschaftsarchitekten, and various consulting firms for mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems. The project falls under the cultural architecture and museum category, preserving important historical artifacts while creating new exhibition spaces. The buildings' origins coincide with Reutlingen's founding period, making them significant examples of medieval urban architecture that have evolved through multiple centuries.
