Wedge Journal Launches with Canceled JAE Palestine Issue as Debut
Editors who opposed the decisions of the Journal of Architectural Education (JAE) have stepped down after the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) scrapped a special issue centered on Palestine. They are establishing a new publication titled Wedge: Architectural Research, Pedagogy, and Practice, which will feature the previously canceled issue as its inaugural release next spring, accessible both online and in print without any subscription fees. Nora Akawi will serve as the editor for this issue, with McLain McClutter as part of the editorial board. Backed by Leuven University Press's Landscape Architecture Projections, Wedge will uphold a double-blind peer review process. The subsequent issue will address degrowth, while JAE will continue its operations, with its Winter 2026 edition focusing on "Educating Civic Architects."
