Warren Steven Scott Launches Debut Menswear Collection Inspired by Marco Mengoni

Toronto-based designer Warren Steven Scott, who is Indigenous from the Nlaka’pamux Nation in British Columbia, has launched his first menswear collection titled “The Place Where We Went Together, Remember?,” inspired by Italian pop star Marco Mengoni. Scott traveled to Bologna, Rome, and Florence to follow Mengoni's summer tour a year ago, drawn to his monochromatic looks with embellishments and decorative applications. The collection features silky wrap-tied blouses, embroidered sequin coats, colorful trousers that can be buttoned off at the knee into shorts, and stand-out pieces like an embroidered rose coat and sequined button-up shirts. Prices range from $200 to $2,500 USD. Scott, who started with shapely earrings and later womenswear, designed the garments for both stage performance and special occasions, emphasizing movement and photogenic qualities. He hopes to see Erykah Badu in the white coat with sequin rose motifs and Pedro Pascal in the blouses.
