Wannenes brings Fontana, Mitoraj, Dadamaino, Schifano and Nitsch to auction in Milan on July 2, 2026

Wannenes will hold a Modern and Contemporary Art auction on July 2, 2026 in Milan, featuring 158 lots. Highlights include a Lucio Fontana terracotta relief from 1958 (€80,000–120,000), an Igor Mitoraj black Belgian marble torso from 1995 (€60,000–80,000), Dadamaino's 1958 tempera 'Volume' (€40,000–60,000), a large circular mixed media work by Mario Schifano from 1995 (€80,000–120,000), and a Hermann Nitsch mixed media on jute from 1995 (€50,000–70,000). Also on offer are works by Alighiero Boetti, Renato Guttuso, Leoncillo Leonardi, Tomonori Toyofuku, Chen Kong Fang, and Salvador Dalí. The Fontana piece is a preparatory sketch for the church of Santa Maria Assunta in Celle Ligure. The Mitoraj torso, from a private collection, features a displaced foot at chest height. The Schifano, from the Piero Guidi collection, is a rare circular format with wing motifs. The auction will be held at Wannenes in Milan.
