Wannenes' auction of Old Masters and 19th-century paintings on May 27 achieved €1,286,882.90. The top lot was 'Natura morta con Vanitas' by the Maestro della natura morta Acquavella, sold for €125,150. Other notable sales include Michele Giambono's 'Santo Stefano' at €75,150, Luca Carlevarijs' 'Veduta di porto mediterraneo' at €68,900, and works by Girolamo Gianni, Gioacchino Toma, and others. Rosanna Nobilitato, head of the 19th-century paintings department, highlighted strong results for Gianni's views of Malta, Toma's historical subject, and rare artists like Ferdinando Labrada and Stanislao Lepri. The auction also saw interest in Orientalism, with Pierre Van Elven's 'Mercato a Beirut' selling for €14,230.
