Wallpaper* August 2026 Creative America Issue Celebrates US at 250

Wallpaper* magazine releases its August 2026 issue, the fourth annual dedicated to the United States, coinciding with the nation's 250th birthday. The issue features the latest Wallpaper* US400, a list of creatives shaping the conversation. The cover story, photographed by Thomas Loof, highlights artist Johnny DeFeo's rentable coyote-head guest house in Taos, New Mexico, described as a 'silly' idea emblematic of artistic freedom. Also in Taos, jewellery designer Anna Sheffield is featured. In the North Dakota Badlands, the Snøhetta-designed Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is showcased, photographed by Vicky Sambunaris. In Los Angeles, Studio Muka's design for film production company Neon Rated is premiered, along with the 1970s Owl House by Mickey Muennig, renovated by Nicole Hollis. The issue explores design practices reconnecting with Poland, Vietnam, India, South Korea, and China, and visits Murano, Italy, where Peter B Staples of Blue Green Works created a memorial for his mother. Other features include architect-trained Olalekan Jeyifous's 'protopias' digital collages, Danielle Mckinney's domestic canvases, Ron Zuckerman's San Francisco apartment with queer life artifacts, and writer/curator Lou Stoppard's essay on swimming pools.
