Volkswagen licenses automotive safety tech for premium e-bike range
Volkswagen has teamed up with n+ to license its safety tech for a new series of premium e-bikes. These bikes feature advanced tools like radar awareness, rear-view cameras, smart wearables, and automotive-inspired lighting. A standout feature is Smart View, which utilizes a radar-powered rear camera with a display on the handlebars, alerting cyclists to nearby vehicles. The Smart Lights include an LED strip that serves as a daytime running light and changes color for braking and turning signals. There’s also a Bluetooth-enabled Volkswagen Smart Helmet that connects to the bike and can detect crashes to send out emergency alerts. Volkswagen Smart Glasses provide navigation info right in the rider's line of sight. Peter Jost, CEO of Volkswagen Accessories, highlighted that these innovations represent a leap forward in e-bike tech. The new products can be found at select retailers and on smart-bike.net.
