Voigtländer Unveils Compact 90mm f/4 APO-Lanthar Lens for Leica M-Mount

Cosina has fully revealed the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 90mm f/4 Close Focus lens, first shown at CP+ 2026 in February, ahead of its August launch. The lens is an impressively compact 90mm telephoto for Leica M-Mount cameras, measuring just 53mm in diameter and 54.8mm in length, and weighing 235 grams. It features an apochromatic design with eight elements in six groups, including abnormal partial dispersion glass, to eliminate axial chromatic aberrations. The lens focuses as close as 0.5 meters using live view, with a maximum magnification of 0.28x. It is rangefinder-coupled to 0.7 meters and accepts 43mm filters. The lens is natively compatible with Leica M-Mount and other rangefinders, but its full-frame image circle allows adaptation to other mirrorless cameras. In Japan, pricing is set at 103,320 yen (approximately $640), with global pricing pending. Sample photos were taken by Takashi Koike.
