Viva Villa Allocates €200,000 to Twelve Post-Residency Projects for 2026-2027

institutional · 2026-10-21

On 20 October 2026, during the fourth annual professional day at the Gaîté Lyrique in Paris, it was revealed that €200,000 from Viva Villa will be distributed among twelve projects involving 85 former residents for the 2026-2027 season. Each cultural venue will receive between €5,000 and €20,000 to organize events featuring two to twelve artists from Viva Villa. Established in 2016, the network focuses on fostering professional growth for artists, with Villa Albertine joining in 2023. Support for these initiatives comes from member institutions, private donors, and public funding. Notable upcoming projects include "Imagination Civile" in Marseille and "Temps d'écrire" at the Villa Gillet in Lyon. Director Sam Stourdzé noted that a single model is not enforced. The Gaîté Lyrique experienced financial setbacks due to a migrant occupation in 2024.
