Vitra names Claudio Marconi CEO and Marianne Goebl creative director

Vitra, the Swiss furniture company, has appointed Claudio Marconi, who previously worked at IKEA, as its new CEO, while Marianne Goebl, formerly of Artek, takes on the role of creative director. Goebl had a prior stint at Vitra as the head of international PR and partnerships until 2011 and later led Design Miami. Since 2014, she served at Artek, culminating in her position as president of the board, where she influenced the brand's cultural and creative direction. Marconi, with a tenure at IKEA beginning in 2001, most recently managed supply chain development and digital initiatives. Vitra aims for these appointments to steer the company towards a future that intertwines business, design, and culture. The firm has collaborated with Konstantin Grcic on the Scout office table system and Rimowa on an aluminum stool and toolbox. Its campus features designs by esteemed architects, including a recent serpentine weathered steel structure by the late Balkrishna Doshi.
