Vasavi Bubna on Passion, Creativity, and Mumbai Roots

Vasavi Bubna, a Brooklyn-based creative currently designing at COLLINS, shares personal reflections in an interview with PRINT Magazine. Born and raised in Mumbai, India, she draws inspiration from her hometown's culture and color, channeling it into purposeful, considered chaos. She describes her earliest creative memories as making handmade cards for loved ones, using her mother's craft supplies. Bubna rejects the concept of regret, viewing it as an unproductive emotion. She finds catharsis in crying, which she does often and openly. Her pride in accomplishments is fleeting due to a negativity bias. She does not believe in a traditional afterlife but believes in energy, karma, and an unseen order. Bubna dislikes her tendency to overthink and take things personally, but loves her passion, which she has learned to embrace unapologetically. Her favorite meal is her mother's chhole and kulcha.
