Various Associates Designs Eco-Farm with Bamboo Canopies in China

The architecture firm Various Associates has completed LuxeIsland Farm, an eco-farm in China's Jiang'an District along the Zhujia River. The project features distinctive woven bamboo canopies shaped like boulders, inspired by the climbing abilities of goats. These structures shelter outdoor seating areas across the farm, which includes retail, dining, and workshop spaces alongside animal pens for deer, alpacas, and goats. The farm is part of the larger 230,000-square-meter LuxeOasis development initiated by Luxelakes Cultural Tourism, aiming to blend art, nature, and cultural tourism. Lead designers Lin Qianyi and Yang Dongzi emphasized using local materials and forms that serve the environment rather than traditional human-centric architecture.
