Vanderbilt to Launch Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang College of Art, Architecture and Design in San Francisco
Vanderbilt University has announced its intention to establish a new campus in San Francisco, which will include the Jen-Hsun and Lori Huang College of Art, Architecture, and Design, set to open in 2027 pending regulatory approval. This college is named after Jen-Hsun Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, and his wife Lori, who donated $75 million to make it happen. Additional backers include Katie and Matt Paige, Jeff and Marieke Rothschild, and Leah and Ben Spero, with the deanship named for the Paiges. Currently, they are looking for the inaugural Katie and Matt Paige Dean, who will report to Provost C. Cybele Raver. The college will focus on studio work, apprenticeships, and research, and will collaborate with the CCA Institute at Vanderbilt to connect with CCA’s 25,000 alumni and the Bay Area arts scene. Vanderbilt aims to gather over $100 million for this initiative. The site, formerly the California College of Arts, will be renamed Vanderbilt San Francisco after CCA’s closure announcement in January.
