V&A's National Art Library Showcases World's Smallest Books Collection

The Victoria and Albert Museum's National Art Library holds an extensive collection of miniature books, including items from Queen Mary's Dolls' House at Windsor Castle. The collection features hundreds of tiny volumes, such as a 1896 Bible, a Quran, works by Robert Burns, and almanacs with gilt edges and marbled papers. Notable items include an early 1700s French prayerbook bound in silver with lapis lazuli and a 2002 German publication measuring 2.4 by 2.9 millimeters, considered the world's smallest book. The library, which houses over a million publications from the 8th century onward, offers public access through its online catalog and reading rooms at the V&A East Storehouse.
