Unvain’s ‘Skins’ Collection Brings Character-Driven Realism to Berlin Fashion Week

During Berlin Fashion Week Spring 2027, the Berlin-based brand Unvain unveiled its second runway collection, “Skins,” which signifies a transition from the previous season's oversized, sculptural designs to more genuine, softer forms. The collection was inspired by fictional characters, each outlined in a booklet provided to attendees prior to the show. According to creative director Robert Friedrichs, every aspect—from the clothing to styling and casting—was influenced by these characters, ensuring clarity throughout. Models portrayed their roles with natural actions, such as scrolling on phones or posing casually. The collection featured everyday wear, including semi-transparent outfits, silver military parkas, and sun-bleached jeans, along with low-rise pants, deep-V-neck polos, and a semi-transparent dress adorned with black feathers. Unfinished raw edges and minimal colors gave some looks an incomplete appearance, while many models accessorized with personal jewelry. Rather than creating new fur items, Unvain partnered with a resale platform to repurpose vintage clothing into distinctive designs. Friedrichs remarked that the collection exuded a youthful, Gen Z vibe, resembling a curated wardrobe of relatable individuals rather than a traditional seasonal collection.
