Unnamed Strictly Come Dancing Star Cleared of Rape Charges Due to Insufficient Evidence

Hertfordshire Police announced on Tuesday that an unnamed Strictly Come Dancing star arrested on suspicion of rape will not face criminal charges. The individual was taken into custody on 13 October 2025 following allegations reported by The Sun, which claimed the incident occurred after a BBC event. Detectives determined there was insufficient evidence to proceed after consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service. The man had been released on bail, which was extended multiple times until 7 April 2026. According to reports, the woman involved was not associated with the show as a contestant or professional dancer but had met the accused through his participation. This case follows another arrest in August of a different man connected to the BBC dance program, who was also suspected of non-consensual intimate image abuse. The Metropolitan Police handled that earlier investigation. Strictly Come Dancing films at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, and airs annually from September to December.
