Unique Matte Black Ferrari Enzo Heads to RM Sotheby's Auction
A 2004 Ferrari Enzo, the only example finished in matte black, will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's in a sealed bidding event from September 23 to 30. Originally ordered by a member of the Royal Family of Brunei, the car features a unique Matte Nero Opaco exterior over Nero leather interior, with the paint refreshed by Carrozzeria Zanasi in 2022. It is powered by the standard 6.0-liter V-12 engine producing 651 hp and 485 ft lbs of torque, capable of 0-60 mph in 3.14 seconds and a top speed of 221 mph. The car has Ferrari Classiche certification and only 3,581 miles on the odometer. With just 400 Enzos built, and most in traditional colors, this one-off example is expected to exceed the $7.5 million paid for a silver Enzo earlier this year. The auction, without a published estimate, highlights the rising value of Ferrari's halo cars, particularly the Enzo as the last with a pure gas engine.
