Ukraine Proposes Energy Ceasefire to Russia Through US Mediators Following Infrastructure Attacks

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday that Ukraine has proposed a mutual ceasefire on energy targets to Russia through American mediators. Zelensky stated in his evening address that if Russia stops attacking Ukrainian energy facilities, Ukraine would respond in kind. The proposal was communicated to the Russian side via US intermediaries. Russia's defense ministry confirmed attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and factories producing missile components on Monday. In northern Ukraine's Chernihiv region, approximately 340,000 people were left without power following these strikes. Additional energy facilities were targeted in the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The Russian military acknowledged targeting both energy infrastructure and missile component factories.
