U.S. News names world's most awe-inspiring landscapes from Wales to Komodo

U.S. News & World Report has compiled a list of the ten most beautiful landscapes in the world, spanning nearly every continent. The selection includes Wales' Gower Peninsula—the UK's first designated National Landscape—with Rhossili Bay's golden sands and Worm's Head; Iceland's Vestrahorn mountain, nearly 1,500 feet tall, adjacent to Brunnhorn (Batman Mountain); St. Lucia's UNESCO-listed Pitons, Gros Piton and Petit Piton, rising over 2,600 feet; Alaska's Denali National Park, home to North America's tallest peak, Mount McKinley at 20,310 feet; Komodo National Park in Indonesia, the only place to see wild Komodo dragons; Provence's Luberon Regional Natural Park, famous for lavender fields peaking in early July; Laamu Atoll in the Maldives, known for the Yin Yang surf wave and its island Gan featured in 'Rogue One'; Monument Valley on the Navajo Nation Reservation, with iconic sandstone mesas; Australia's Great Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site comprising nearly 3,000 individual reefs; and Acadia National Park in Maine, with Cadillac Mountain and the Somes Sound fjard.
