Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn Solo Exhibition at Philbrook Museum
The Philbrook Museum of Art has unveiled a solo exhibition called "Tuấn Andrew Nguyễn: Fragments & Transformation," which will be on display until January 3, 2027. Nguyễn, who was born in 1976 in Saigon (currently Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam, escaped the country with his family in 1979 as a young child, initially settling in Tulsa. His experiences as a refugee during childhood have significantly shaped his artistic focus, emphasizing healing and empowerment for those impacted by violence. As an adult, Nguyễn revisited Vietnam, directing his work towards reconstruction by utilizing remnants of unexploded ordnance (UXO), including artillery shells sourced from bombing locations.
