This appeal coincides with Chinese President Xi Jinping's scheduled state visit to the US on September 24. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent informed Reuters that officials from both nations will continue discussions on AI regulations. Meanwhile, Chinese state media criticized US AI governance, with Yuyuan Tantian, a social media account linked to CCTV, accusing the US firm Anthropic of attempting to impose industry standards through aggressive lobbying and CEO Dario Amodei's calls for empowering democracies with AI.
