New court filings reveal the existence of the Trump Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, an entity created this spring that DOJ lawyers argue is tied to hundreds of millions in gifts and pledges that would be jeopardized if Donald Trump's name is removed from the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. The foundation, first mentioned in a June 12 filing, requires that gifts be returned if Trump's name is removed. Public records show the foundation was created on March 18 by amending the name of an existing nonprofit, the Kennedy Center Foundation, established in 2024.
