In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed Burnham had indicated support for further fossil fuel production, suggesting it would transform the UK from a "Poverty Stricken Disaster" into "one of the Richest Countries anywhere in the World." Trump also attacked wind power, proposing the removal of "old and horrible looking windmills" that he said "loom over and destroy" the city of Aberdeen. Burnham, dubbed the "King of the North" for his work as mayor of Greater Manchester, has not confirmed the reports. Trump predicted that people in Aberdeen would be "dancing in the streets" if drilling proceeds.
