Troye Sivan Releases New Album 'She's the Best' and 'FF' Music Video

Troye Sivan has released his new album 'She's the Best', with the title track and opening song serving as the lead single. The album is bookended by women: the title track is an ode to the women who made him, and the final words are sung by Lily-Rose Depp in French. The album follows a meandering arc from club-ready banger 'Party' to psychedelic synths on 'Le Boy', to introspective songs about longing. The single 'FF' (short for 'Fuck Forever') is released today with a music video directed by Gordon von Steiner, set on Fire Island. The album features production from Jack Antonoff, George Daniel, Leland, Oscar Görres, Tyde Levi, and Sivan himself for the first time. In an interview with Vogue, Sivan said the album is his most experimental yet, and that he wanted the music to feel spontaneous and not contrived. He chose 'She's the Best' as the lead single because it represents stability amid the album's tension. The album explores themes of hedonism, loneliness, yearning, and ultimately the steadying force of women. Sivan noted that an alternative title was 'Le Boy', but he decided to focus on what's real. The music videos for 'FF' and 'Party' feature steamy scenes, which Sivan says are like acting. For this album, Sivan aimed to feel like himself rather than a persona, and it's the first time he's not on the album cover. The interview was condensed and edited for clarity.
