Toxe Releases Debut English-Language Album 'Bubble Treasure'

Swedish artist Toxe, born Tove Agélii in Gothenburg in 1997, has released her first English-language album, 'Bubble Treasure,' on September 15, 2026. The 10-track record, clocking in at under 23 minutes, blends breathy dream pop with a nautical, tropical-gothic aesthetic inspired by her boyfriend's Key West roots. Toxe began making music after receiving software from her brother at age 14, later moving to Berlin at 18 to study art and architecture. She released the EP 'Muscle Memory' in 2015 and her first album, 'Toxe2,' in 2024. 'Bubble Treasure' features piano, strings, and percussion, with tracks like 'Awe,' 'Bubble Treasure,' 'Boo,' 'Wishing Well,' and 'Cranberry Glass.' Toxe describes the album's concept as a pirate or seafarer searching for treasure but finding only bubbles. She cites influences from Bala Club, Yung Lean, and Drain Gang, and identifies with Tove Jansson's character Little My. Fashion brands have embraced her music: Cos used tracks from the album at its spring 2027 show in New York, Acne Studios featured her music in spring 2018, and Christian Dior played it in 2023. Toxe, who does everything herself, says she is happy people are drawn to her world.
