Toronto Symphony Expands to Suburbs with $2.3M Partnership
The Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) has revealed a significant five-year partnership worth $2.3 million with 407 ETR, aimed at delivering concerts and music education to communities in Brampton, Markham, and Scarborough. This marks the TSO's largest-ever corporate donation for community and educational initiatives. Dubbed Symphony Where You Are, the program seeks to engage new audiences throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with specially curated performances and educational offerings. TSO CEO Mark Williams highlighted the organization's commitment to reflecting the GTA's diverse communities and breaking down barriers to classical music access. The initiative builds on a previous three-year collaboration with The Rose Theatre in Brampton. The partnership will commence on September 26 with the TSO's annual Open House & Free Concert, with additional programming for Markham and Scarborough to be announced later. 407 ETR, which manages the 407 highway, will serve as the presenting partner, alongside support from TD Bank Group.
