Three Spanish Círculos de Bellas Artes sign Red Circular alliance

On June 30, 2026, the directors of the Círculos de Bellas Artes of Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, and Tenerife formalized the Declaración Red Circular, an agreement to establish a stable cooperation network among these century-old cultural institutions. The initiative aims to strengthen ties between territories, promote the circulation of projects and knowledge, and generate new opportunities for artists and cultural professionals. For the Canary Islands, an archipelago, this network will provide new avenues for local art and creators to participate in exchanges and collaborations that are difficult to achieve in isolation. The Círculo de Bellas Artes de Tenerife, host and driving force of the first meeting, launched this initiative as part of its board's program focused on the institution's rebirth and redefinition of its role in the contemporary context. Coinciding with its centenary, the Círculo addresses challenges of historical institutions in the 21st century: reinforcing its function as a meeting and thought space, forging new synergies, and expanding its capacity for local, national, and international cooperation. The three Círculos view the declaration not as an endpoint but as the start of a gradual growth process, already working on future agreements to extend the network's reach.
