The Peninsula Hong Kong Presents Immersive Art Exhibition with V&A Museum Partnership

The Peninsula Hong Kong has launched an immersive art exhibition titled 'Art in Resonance' in collaboration with London's Victoria and Albert Museum. This initiative is part of the hotel brand's global arts program that started in 2019, coinciding with Hong Kong Arts Month. The exhibition will remain open until May 5, 2026, featuring newly commissioned works by three artists: Angel Hui, William Lim, and Albert Yonathan Setyawan. Angel Hui, a Hong Kong-based artist, presents 'Swimming in Light,' which transforms the hotel's Rolls-Royce vehicles with embroidered goldfish motifs. Hui has been chosen to represent Hong Kong at the 61st Venice Biennale, highlighting her rising international profile. William Lim, an architect-artist from Hong Kong, created 'Walking On A Bright Future' in partnership with Tai Ping, converting The Verandah Café into an environment inspired by his painting 'A Bright Future.' The installation includes a large hand-tufted wall tapestry and a patterned floor carpet. Albert Yonathan Setyawan, an Indonesian ceramicist based in Tokyo, displays 'Metamorphic Modulation' in the hotel lobby, an intricate piece made from over 700 unglazed terracotta ceramic components. Benjamin Vuchot, Executive Director and CEO of The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, Limited, stated that the program demonstrates the company's dedication to promoting artistic innovation and cultural exchange, aiming to enhance Hong Kong's status as a cultural center in Asia. Additionally, the hotel is offering themed culinary experiences, such as an Art-Inspired Cake Trolley, an afternoon tea, and a pastry set inspired by the artworks.
