The Many Within exhibition at The Tiger Room explores nomadic subjectivity through three artists

"The many within," an exhibition at The Tiger Room in Munich, showcases the works of Yuchu Gao, Anna Lena Keller, and Iris Böhnlein, delving into non-unitary subjectivity through feminist and philosophical lenses. Drawing from Rosi Braidotti's nomadic theory, the exhibition investigates the presence of difference within individuals. Yuchu Gao's artwork features "Haenyeo," the female divers of Jeju Island, South Korea, who defy conventional labor roles. Anna Lena Keller constructs thermoplastic exoskeletons using Worbla tape, alluding to prosthetic theory. Meanwhile, Iris Böhnlein recreates familiar objects from paper and card, reflecting on her Franconian roots. The exhibition engages with Deleuze and Guattari's spatial concepts, framing nomadic subjectivity as a form of resistance against capitalism and enriching the understanding of power dynamics.
