TextielMuseum to Show Hella Jongerius' Design Archive in Smart Hands

This autumn, the TextielMuseum in the Netherlands will unveil the exhibition 'Hella Jongerius – Smart hands,' providing a distinctive look into the creative process and textile archive of one of the country’s leading designers. This exhibition is made possible by Jongerius' generous contribution of her textile design archive, which includes over 4,000 sketches, models, and material samples. Visitors will see a curated selection from the archive alongside finished textile products, showcasing not just the end results but also the research, experimentation, and craftsmanship involved. Hella Jongerius has achieved global acclaim through her designs for brands such as IKEA, KLM, Vitra, and Maharam, with her work featured in prominent museums like MoMA in New York and the V&A Museum in London. Textiles have been integral to her over thirty-year career.
