Tesla China President Reveals Shanghai Gigafactory Could Manufacture Humanoid Robots

Speaking at a media briefing on Tuesday, Wang described the facility as a potential 'golden key' for mass-producing robots that resemble and move like humans. This marks the first public statement by a Tesla executive about using the Shanghai factory for this new strategic focus championed by Elon Musk. Wang expressed high confidence that the factory, like other Tesla facilities, could manufacture all new products including robots, contributing to what he called a 'new era of robots.' Musk has positioned Tesla's expertise in artificial intelligence and autonomous driving as justification for the company's stock valuation. In January, Tesla announced a transformation from a hardware-centric business to a physical AI firm, following reports of weak earnings and deliveries last year.
