Terranthropology Journal Focuses on Voice and Vocal Illusion

The French anthropology and social sciences journal Terrain has released a new issue dedicated to the voice and vocal illusion. The issue is edited by Vincent Hirtzel, a CNRS research fellow and director of the Center for Teaching and Research in Amerindian Studies, and Aïssatou Mbodj-Pouye, an anthropologist and CNRS research director at the Institute of African Worlds. The cover art is by Adrià Fruitós. The journal's regular column "Ailleurs" (Elsewhere) takes readers to Lomé, Togo, featuring Frédérick Mawupenkor TSATSU, general delegate of the 11th Joutes Verbales Francophones, a competition to select the best orator in the country. The final will take place on July 11, 2026, at the Institut français du Togo. The issue also includes a musical program featuring Vicky R feat. Ebokolo with the track "Djolo."
