Teen Science Café Event Engages Students with Circuit-Building Workshop

The Museum of Life and Science hosted a Teen Science Café event where high school students participated in an educational workshop on electrical circuits. Led by Kendra V. Settles, Controls Engineering Manager at PowerSecure in Durham, attendees learned about circuit components and electricity principles. Participants applied this knowledge by constructing illuminated devices using popsicle sticks, copper tape, LEDs, and coin batteries. The event aimed to expose students to STEM career paths through hands-on activities with local professionals. The program received support from BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
