Tavares Strachan's First Monograph from Phaidon Surveys Decades of Conceptual Practice

This month, Phaidon published the first-ever monograph dedicated to Tavares Strachan, a conceptual artist from the Bahamas. This release coincides with his exhibition 'The Day Tomorrow Began' at The Pizzuti, located in the Columbus Museum of Art, which runs until January 3. The comprehensive 2,400-page book showcases Strachan's artistic journey over the years, including a 2018 encyclopedia with 15,000 entries omitted from the Encyclopedia Britannica. Strachan, who hails from Nassau, founded the Bahamas Aerospace and Sea Exploration Center (BASEC) in 2018 and successfully launched a 3U satellite into space to honor Robert Henry Lawrence Jr., the first African-American astronaut.
