institutional · 2026-09-21

Tate Collective has achieved a milestone of 200,000 members and is marking this occasion by inviting one artist aged 16–25 to produce a new piece for Tate Modern. The selection will be made by a jury led by Rosalie Doubal, Senior Curator of International Art at Tate. The commissioned artwork is set to be unveiled in March 2027, with the deadline for submissions on Wednesday, 14th October 2026. This marks the first open-call commission to be showcased at Tate Modern. Earlier this summer, six artists under 25 created murals inspired by Frida Kahlo in Bankside. Additionally, Tate Modern Lates celebrates its 10th anniversary, with 870,000 attendees, culminating in a special event on Friday, 30th October featuring Shygirl and more.
