Tarform unveils $18,000 electric motorcycle Vera with sustainable materials

Swedish designer Taras Kravtchouk, founder of Tarform Motorcycles, has announced the Vera, a more affordable electric motorcycle starting at $18,000, with deliveries beginning in August 2026. The Vera is a stripped-back version of the Luna model, which was hand-built in Brooklyn for $48,000. Kravtchouk, who previously ran a visual design agency in Sweden and built custom motorcycles for Belstaff, aimed to create an electric bike with the aesthetic of a classic cafe racer, inspired by designers like Arne Jacobsen and Alvar Aalto. The Vera features a smaller, lighter battery with 30% less torque than the Luna, making it more accessible for new riders. Its design uses organic lines sweeping to the rear, with a superstructure of forged carbon fibre (a waste material) and body panels made from flaxseed fibre-based resin, also used in surfboards. Upholstery is a tea leaf-derived synthetic leather. The bike retains the 'living sound' system from the Luna, which amplifies the electromagnetic pulse of the motor through an instrument, rather than using a synthesised sound. Tarform, which considers itself an electric mobility company, is also developing an electric jet ski.
