Tala's Root Chandelier Reimagines Traditional Lighting Through Organic Tree Growth Patterns

The British brand Tala has unveiled its Root chandelier, a lighting fixture that draws direct inspiration from the natural growth patterns of trees. Designer Dan Carpenter explained that the piece is based on the way trees split and divide repeatedly to form root systems or canopies. Crafted from solid brass with glass diffusers, the chandelier's structure features a textured finish that honors traditional metal-forging processes, giving each piece a unique character. The design incorporates milky glass diffusers in an inverted-teardrop shape, subtly evoking buds growing along branches. Available in eight different configurations, the Root chandelier offers tiered arrangements ranging from classical to modern aesthetics. Its dimensions vary from 860 to 1160 millimeters in width, allowing it to adapt to different spaces. The piece is presented as a soft, delicate yet reliable centerpiece intended to create a sense of shelter. This product launch was featured in Dezeen Showroom, a platform for brands to showcase new designs.
