Takashi Murakami's independent footwear project Ohana Hatake has launched the Surippa Onsen Collection II, drawing inspiration from Japan's traditional hot spring culture. The collection introduces three new colorways—Purple Ash, Mineral Blue, and Birch—designed to evoke the tranquil atmosphere of Japanese onsen. These slippers reinterpret classic indoor Japanese footwear with a minimalist silhouette constructed from soft, molding EVA foam, intended for both indoor and outdoor daily movement. A distinctive feature is the hidden floral pattern etched into the durable rubber sole, incorporating Murakami's iconic visual language into a nearly concealed detail. This release continues Murakami's practice of transforming everyday objects into design elements through his direct involvement with Ohana Hatake, blending contemporary art, Japanese culture, and functional design.
