Tadashi Kawamata Creates Site-Specific Installation for Ruinart at Berlin's Gallery Weekend

From April 30th to May 3rd, during Berlin's Gallery Weekend, Ruinart will unveil the Ruinart Champagne & Art Bar at PalaisPopulaire, showcasing a unique installation by Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata. This work, which is part of Ruinart's ongoing artist collaboration initiative that began in 2008, reflects the theme 'Conversations with Nature.' Born in 1953 in Hokkaidō, Japan, Kawamata focuses on the reuse of materials in art, architecture, and design. The installation will serve as the gallery's highlight, featuring food pairings inspired by sustainability alongside premium champagnes. Tastings led by sommelier Pierre Girard can be reserved via ruinart.com/galleryweberlin2026. The bar will operate from 1-9pm, with tastings at 2pm, 4:30pm, and 6pm for €40.
