Swizz Beatz Launches Casa Dean Furniture Collection with CB2

Grammy-winning rapper and producer Kasseem Dean, known as Swizz Beatz, has partnered with home decor brand CB2 on a furniture line called Casa Dean, named for his family. The collection includes furniture, lighting, and decorative accessories, and was developed with designer Evan Jerry of Studio Anansi. Dean, who grew up in the Bronx and now lives in Harlem with his wife, Grammy-winner Alicia Keys, drew on childhood memories of his grandmother's plastic-covered couch and record cabinet, as well as his extensive collection of Black art. The line features a woolly taupe shearling chair, a red enamel console table, a green velvet modular sofa, artwork made with artist Megan Gabrielle Harris, and smoked crystal barware. A 'Lam-Louie' credenza honors Dean's father, a DJ who worked with hip-hop pioneer Cool Herc, and doubles as a DJ setup; a chair is designed for solo daydreaming, and Dean's favorite color, British racing green, appears throughout. CB2's senior director of design and development for housewares, Andrea Erman, praised Dean's focus on how pieces feel and encourage gathering. Dean was introduced to CB2 by celebrity manicurist Dawn Sterling, Keys' nail tech, and later reviewed designs with Keys at their family dinner table. The collection aims to foster what Dean calls 'the creative home.'
