Swiss Institute Acquires Permanent Bowery Home, Johnston Marklee to Renovate

The Swiss Institute in New York City is acquiring its first permanent home at 250 Bowery, across from the New Museum. Architectural firm Johnston Marklee will renovate the space, set to open next spring with "The Environment," a group exhibition inspired by filmmaker Bud Wirtschafter's 1960s participatory project in the Lower East Side. This marks the first time the institute will own its location in its four-decade history.
