Suzie Miller Discusses Inter Alia Novel and Career, with Prima Facie Film and New Play Premiering
Australian playwright Suzie Miller, known for her works Prima Facie and Inter Alia, has transitioned her plays into novels, with Inter Alia released on 29 September. This novel centers on Jessica Parks, a judge in London, whose son faces assault charges. The stage adaptation debuted in the West End in 2025, featuring Rosamund Pike, who earned an Olivier Award for her performance; it is set to move to Broadway in November. Miller crafted Inter Alia to engage parents of boys, tackling themes such as consent and toxic masculinity. Prima Facie has been performed in 52 countries, prompting reforms in UK courts. A film version of Prima Facie, starring Cynthia Erivo, was unveiled at TIFF in September. Miller will present discussions on Inter Alia in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney from 7 to 11 October.
