Survivors rescued from rubble days after Venezuela earthquakes

Nearly a week following the catastrophic earthquakes that hit Venezuela, international rescue teams are still discovering survivors. Early Tuesday, Salvadorean rescuers located a 44-year-old man trapped beneath the debris of a shopping center in Maiquetía, as reported by El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele on X. During the operation, the man received water via a tube. Additionally, a 12-year-old boy was rescued by Quito’s fire brigade on Monday. Initial satellite evaluations suggest that approximately 58,870 structures have been damaged or completely destroyed. Despite the ongoing search efforts, hope is fading.
