Sundaram Tagore Gallery Opens London Space in St James's with Cross-Cultural Exhibition

Sundaram Tagore Gallery expands to London with a new 310-square-metre space at Pall Mall, opening in May 2026. The gallery, founded in New York in 2000, occupies a renovated Edwardian building designed by London-based studio Stabb. Its inaugural exhibition, 'Hybridity and Belonging in Contemporary Art,' runs from May 16th to June 20th, 2026, featuring artists like Hiroshi Senju, Tayeba Lipi, Sohan Qadri, Kenny Nguyen, Anila Quayyum Agha, Miya Ando, Chun Kwang Young, Jane Lee, Zheng Lu, and Neha Vedpathak. The multi-level venue includes exhibition areas, a private viewing room, and spaces for talks, screenings, and performances. Founder Sundaram Tagore, an Indian-born Oxford-educated art historian and filmmaker, has personal ties to London, where he studied and his father, painter Subho Tagore, worked. The gallery's program emphasizes cross-cultural dialogue, with future exhibitions planned for Miya Ando in summer and Chun Kwang Young in autumn. Tagore previously directed at Pace Wildenstein Gallery in New York and has collaborated with institutions like the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
