Suleman Aqeel Khilji's Memory Paintings at White Cube Paris

White Cube Paris presents an exhibition of works by Pakistani artist Suleman Aqeel Khilji, on view until July 25, 2026. Born in Quetta, Khilji draws from Balochistan landscapes, train travel lights, and childhood memories. Using anonymous photographs, film stills, found drawings, and literary/cinematic figures, he creates spectral silhouettes and uncertain architectures. His technique involves thin layers of paint in a mineral palette inspired by his native region's geology. Works appear on linen, but also on secondhand book covers and used cigarette packs. The imagery is deliberately unstable, evoking dreams and personal recollection. The exhibition is located at 10 avenue Matignon, 75008 Paris, open Tuesday to Saturday 10am-12:30pm and 1:30-6pm, closed Sunday and Monday, free entry.
