Studio VDGA Completes Brick House in Pune with Traditional Indian Architectural Reinterpretation
Brick House, a private residence spanning 4,500 square feet, has been finalized by Studio VDGA in the bustling urban landscape of Pune. The architectural vision was spearheaded by Deepak Gugarii and Rashi Saanson, with Viplav Paithankar as the project architect. Structural expertise came from G A Bhilare Consultants Private Limited, while the contractor was Rahul Khivansara. Edmund Sumner captured images of the finished building. The design adeptly addresses spatial limitations and climatic issues through passive strategies and a minimalist choice of materials. Traditional Indian architectural concepts were thoughtfully adapted for modern urban life. Key manufacturers involved included Grohe, Bharat flooring and tiles, Daikin, and others. The project, curated by Miwa Negoro, was completed in 2025.
