Studio Nirvana Completes Minimalist Zen-Inspired Holiday Home in Kerala

Indian architecture firm Studio Nirvana has completed a holiday residence in Kerala, India, named Zenhouse. The two-story, 1,393-square-meter property is located near Palakkad on a verdant site with mature trees. The design draws from Zen Buddhist principles, emphasizing simplicity and tranquility through minimalist, monochromatic spaces. The layout incorporates transitional 'nothing spaces' to foster calm, and the structure is organized around existing mango and jackfruit trees. Features include a meditation room, a swimming pool, and a separate service block. The project was led by founder Avinash Joshy and project architect Liz Tomy.
