Studio Lugo's Resonance collection debuts at Milan Design Week 2026

architecture-design · 2026-07-13

During Milan Design Week 2026, Studio Lugo, established by Turkish designer Doruk Kubilay, presented its Resonance collection at the historic Baggio Hospital venue. This collectible series features eight distinct items: a desk, chairs, a candelabra, a pendant light, a shelving unit, a screen, a side object, and a nightstand. Made from materials such as Alpaca metal (a copper-zinc-nickel alloy known as German Silver), aluminium, brass, Madrone wood veneer, and horsehair, the collection showcases exposed layered metals and rugged edges, contrasting with the studio's previous polished fine-furniture style. Kubilay characterized this transition as a move towards embracing uncertainty and taking bolder risks. The collection also includes repurposed brass from earlier works, like the Veil screen and Memory in Matter nightstand. Previous projects include the Anachron (2025) collection and the Mother and Daughter (2025) set, inspired by Anatolian landscapes.
